Katrina Kaif doesn't have time for Salman Khan.

Mumbai: Salman Khan is known as the Godfather and mentor of many B-Town heroines and Katrina Kaif is one of them. It is said after giving a dud like Boom, Katrina's career was almost finished but with the help of Salman Khan she got another chance to prove herself in Bollywood. Strangely, the same Katrina Kaif does not have time for her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan, who is going through a rough phase. Salman Khan was in US recently for the medical treatment of his nerve disorder disease. He is also facing a legal trouble because of his infamous 1998 blackbuck killing case and 2002 hit-and-run case. This is the time where he needs all his loved ones. Rumour has it that Salman is very upset with Katrina Kaif, who is at the zenith of her career, does not have time for her once boyfriend and now good friend Salman. Well, we are wondering, is Katrina really busy with her work or is she intentionally avoiding Salman Khan. Only God knows!!

Ranbir Copies Shahrukh

Ranbir copies SRK

With Ranbir Kapoor endorsing the famous cola brand, the new commercial sees Kapoor junior in a different light. Sporting a moustache, a normal shirt and trousers and also holding onto a tiffin box and an office bag, Ranbir reminds us of Shah Rukh Khan from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. SRK as Suri in RNBDJ also sported the same look and he too had his favorite yellow color tiffin box. Interestingly SRK once endorsed the same cola brand!

No Salman Khan's film this year ?

Actor's next reportedly scheduled for mid-January 2014

Salman Khan is the box-office king of Bollywood. So, each of his films become an eagerly awaited phenomenon. However, we learn from reliable trade sources that there may be no Salman film releasing throughout 2013.

His next film, Mental, directed by his youngest brother Sohail Khan, is likely to release only around mid-January 2014.

According to our source, "In keeping with the screenplay, it will take the Khans around 135 days to complete the shooting. There are fivemajor action sequences including the high-octane climax, which takes place on a highway with Salman bringing all traffic to a halt. Most importantly, everything is planned bearing in mind Salman's nerve trouble (Trigeminal Neuralgia). Sohail wants to ensure it doesn't aggravate in any manner whatsoever."

Due to unavailability of a suitable weekend after October 2 - withKrrish 3 coming in Diwali and Dhoom 3 round Christmas this year - the Khans reportedly plan to release Mental around mid-January 2014.

As our informer says, "January 26, 2014 is a Sunday, so there's no advantage of releasing on the Republic Day weekend. The earlier Friday is January 17 and Makar Sankranti on January 14, a Tuesday. So they might come with Mental on Tuesday for the benefit Makar Sankranti might give them.''

When contacted, Sohail said, "I'll come when I am ready.'' He reiterated that he'd talk about a date only when it's closer to the release.

Salman Khan keen to buy house in Dubai

After Bollywood Biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and the Bachchans, Salman Khan is the next superstar to buy a house in the beautiful desert city Dubai.

According to an entertainment website, the ‘Dabangg’ star, who was shooting for his brother Sohail Khan’s ‘Mental’ in Dubai, was reportedly taking out time in between the shoots to look for a real estate property in the city, with his family.

We are looking (for a house in Dubai); in fact we have been (looking) for a while. It’s just that we have been tied up this whole year. We would love to buy a pad in Dubai. It’s just two and a half hours from Mumbai anyway,” Sohail Khan said.

It (investing in Dubai) has crossed our mind, we will just have to find the right place where we would like to invest, where we would like our home to be,” he further added.

Sohail also revealed that the decision to buy a house in Dubai was taken long back, even before they started shooting for their movie.

He said, “For years now, we have been property hunting. Whenever we come here we see something nice, but people tell us to wait since there’s always something better coming up.

When asked whether Salman is planning to spend more time in Dubai, Sohail said that Mumbai is always going to be home for the Khan-daan and added that although the Khan siblings were born and raised in Mumbai, they would love to holiday often in Dubai.

Apart from Salman, Shah Rukh Khan has already purchased a house in posh Palm Jumeirah and the famous celebrity couple, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, has also recently purchased a lavish villa at the Sanctuary falls in Dubai.

Sallu’s love for Dubai is not hidden from all, as he had earlier stated to the reporters, “If I wasn’t living in Mumbai for work, then I would surely be living in Dubai.

Salman Khan's Being Human follows an unusual revenue model

Branded for life!

Ekta Aggarwal, Creative Director of marketing consultancy Landor, got into an autorickshaw in Mumbai that was festooned with Salman Khan's photographs soon after Dabangg 2 was released. The driver said he decked up his autorickshaw with new cutouts of Khan each time he released a film because the actor had paid for his son's operation.

For millions of fans such as the autorickshaw driver, Khan isn't just a larger-than-life superstar. He is the Bollywood bad guy with a heart of gold who helps them out when they are down and out. And the 48-year-old superstar has successfully leveraged such adulation and extended his man-of-the-masses image to create a charity and lifestyle brand, Being Human, which has almost become as big as him. "Being Human has become a cult. In fact, it has become larger than Brand Salman," says Aggarwal.

"Salman doesn't just entertain, but also empowers. Right from the kind of movies he picks to the projects he invests in, he is clear that he will only talk to the masses."

The star's social clout comes from the Being Human Foundation which provides affordable health-care and primary education to underprivileged people across the country. Set up in 2007, the foundation has teamed up with organisations such as the Marrow Donors Registry India to help patients who suffer from diseases such as leukemia and thalassemia.

It recently tied up with Coca-Cola and infotech company NIIT to help a career development centre which provides computer and electrical training to people from rural areas.
Being Human is a charity with an unusual revenue model. It does not ask for donations but raises most of its funds from royalty from the sale of Being Human merchandise. Khan has extended Being Human into a successful fashion brand that sells both in India and several stores in Europe and West Asia. Ten per cent of every sale of a Being Human product goes to the foundation. Khan recently picked up a minority stake in travel portal Yatra.com and one rupee from every transaction goes to the foundation.

Manish Mandhana, Managing Director of Mandhana Industries, which manufactures and retails the Being Human apparel line, says it is already a Rs 100-crore brand. "At the front end, it is a lifestyle brand and at the back end, it is a philanthropic organisation. All royalties from the lifestyle brand support the philanthropy we do," he says.

Marketing experts say the Being Human brand helps boost the Salman Khan brand and has slowly succeeded in overshadowing his bad boy image. Despite his successful movie career, Khan was never one of the biggest names in the endorsement business. But lately he has cashed in on his man-of-the-masses image to sell a host of products with mass appeal such as Britannia Tiger biscuits, Thums Up, Relaxo slippers and Rotomac pens. "Salman in most of his films has a Robin Hood image, which he has seamlessly carried into his real life. He actually tries to live the role he plays in films. This makes him a great brand," says Ashish Mishra, Managing Director of brand consultancy Interbrand India.

In the marketing world, the real test of a successful celebrity brand is how he leverages his status outside of his business. Football star David Beckham, for example, is not just known for playing world-class football, but has leveraged his brand to run a successful fashion apparel line, dVb. Experts say Khan is one of the few Indian celebrities who have leveraged their stardom for the future. They see Shah Rukh Khan as an astute businessman, with interests in film production and cricket, and as one of the highest paid actors in the endorsement market .

But, according to them, most of his forays outside acting are shrewd business moves and do not really contribute to building the star's brand.

Similarly, they see Aamir Khan as a social crusader but not a brand with long-term appeal. "There is a shelf life for the values Aamir represents, but he has done it in a serious way (through his films and shows such as Satyameva Jayate). There is more appeal in Salman's way as he doesn't make it boring and preachy," says Interbrand India's Mishra.

With Salman Khan's career on a roll, his brand equity is unlikely to fade soon. All his films in the past two years - Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard, among them - have been monster Rs 100-crore hits. One of his recent releases, Ek Tha Tiger, beat all earlier films with box-office collections close to Rs 200 crore. But the movie star does not plan to stop at that: he has big plans for the Being Human charity and lifestyle brand.

Rs 7 cr Salman Khan's endorsement fee per deal. Two years ago, it was just Rs 1.5 crore

He is working on an education video for schoolchildren which will be sold at video stores across the country and distributed free to underprivileged children.

He also plans to extend the Being Human brand to the food business by setting up cafes with a leading food and beverages company. A percentage of the revenue from the cafes will go to the charitable foundation. "The dream is that Being Human should outlive Salman Khan. I want to get into a space where people get up in the morning and brush their teeth with a Being Human toothbrush, have toast made with a Being Human toaster, wear Being Human apparel, hang out at our cafes and finally sleep on a Being Human pillow," he says.

Is the dream a bit far-fetched? Not really, says Mishra. "If the branding strategy is well laid out, Being Human and brand Salman definitely have the potential of outliving Salman Khan, the actor."

Confirmed upcoming movies of Salman Khan in 2013-2014

Here is a hot news coming up!! It may disappoint some as well. For all those who are loving Salman in the current massy action entertainers that he is doing, he will continue in the same successful track for the next couple of years as well. He will be working with Sohail Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala and Prabhudeva this year itself. The shooting schedule of Anees Bazmee's 'No Entry Mein Entry' has been postponed to 2014 and there is uncertainty around Sooraj Barjatya's next directorial venture as well. So those who were eagerly waiting to see Salman back in comic or romantic roles, would have to wait a little longer. Salman is now all set to start shooting for Sohail Khan's next release. The working title for this movie was kept as 'Mental' but it is not the final title, as confirmed by Sohail Khan himself. This movie is going to start from Feb 18 and it will be filmed in Goa, Lasava and Kohlapur.
After the completion of his brother's project, Khan will start working for Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut Kick from August. From October, Salman will start an action thriller with Tips to be directed by Prabhudeva. Prabhudeva is currently busy with the shooting of 'Ramaiyya Vastavaiiya' and he will also direct one movie with Ajay Devgn after this. Prabhudeva directed Salman earlier in 'Wanted' which marked the beginning of the golden era for Salman. Sohail's movie will release in 2013 in all probability whereas Kick and Prabhudeva's film will be coming only in 2014.

The south bug sure seems to have bitten Bollywood, and how!

Can Shahid replicate Salman or Akshay ?

After spending his birthday watching the live telecast of the Academy Awards, Shahid Kapoor is all inspired to start work on his next films. His film "Rambo Rajkumar", which will be directed by Prabhu Deva, goes on the floors today. Apparently, the makers wanted to make it special for Shahid and so planned the shoot three days after the actor turned 32. The film was announced some time ago but the muhurat was held only yesterday in Bhuj, Gujarat. Shahid will be canning a few action sequences in this schedule.
Now here is some interesting comparison with proven statistics. Prabhudeva has directed 2 films so far - Wanted with Salman Khan and Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar. His third movie 'Ramaiyya Vastavaiyya' is also complete though. Wanted was the remake of blockbuster Telugu movie 'Pokkiri'. When 'Wanted' came in 2009, Salman was going through the lowest phase of his career. He had debacles like God Tusi Great Ho and Yuvvraj behind him. Even before that, apart from Partner, Salman's Salaam-E-Ishq, Babul and Jaanemann failed to make any impact at the box office. 'Wanted' revived Salman's career in a big way and he has found real success mantra in the action avatar. He is now at the peak of his career with blockbuster action hits like Dabangg, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2 - all of them came after the stupendous success of Wanted.
Prabhu's second venture 'Rowdy Rathore' was also a remake of another superhit Telugu movie 'Vikramarkudu'. Akshay Kumar was going through a bad phase with a string of flops like Khatta Meetha, Action Replay, Tees Maar Khan, Patiala House, Thank You and Desi Boys. Although, Housefull 2 released just before Rowdy Rathore was a hit but it was a multistarrer and a sequel to a successful franchise. So Akshay did not benefitted much from it. Rowdy Rathore became a huge success as Akshay returned to full fledged action after a long time. The movie brought Akki back in reckoning and he went ahead and signed few more typical south indian action remakes.
Shahid Kapoor is currently going through worst phase in terms of his professional career. His much hyped movies Mausam and Teri Meri Kahaani have been outrightly rejected by the audience. Now the big question is - Can Prabhudeva's movie work wonders for Shahid's dwindling career like it did for Salman and Akshay. The difference here is 'Rambo Rajkumar' is an original story and not a remake of blockbuster movie like Wanted and Rowdy Rathore. Here is wishing Shahid Kapoor all the best and let's hope that the movie brings back the talented actor back in reckoning!

Salman Khan Upset with fans again.!

Crazy fans literally chased Salman Khan in Hyderabad on Sunday night. The actor's car was followed by about 40 bikers, all the way from Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium to his hotel. Salman had gone to the city to watch a CCL match between his brother Sohail Khan's Mumbai Heroes and the Telugu Warriors.

According to an eyewitness, after the match got over around 11 pm, Salman walked to his car, parked right outside the stadium's gate.

To facilitate his exit, traffic was blocked and fans who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor were pushed aside. Some even started following Salman's car, forcing the police to lathi-charge them. But the trouble didn't end there. About 20-odd bikers (some bikes even had three passengers) started following him. They rode close to the car and kept knocking at the window. A source said, "Salman was very upset with the way people behaved. He was concerned that there could've been an accident."

Salman Khan and Prabhudeva to make Wanted Sequel.

Wanted is a remake of Puri Jagannath’s Telugu blockbuster ‘Pokiri, which stormed box office in 2009. The film did no less than 100crore business in Bollywood. In the song 'Jalwa' we have seen two great personalities dancing together on same beat.
Well there is more of them to look forward to in Bollywood.
Right now Salman and Prabhu Deva are planning to make a sequel of 'WANTED' and the film will go on floors by the end of this year.

NOTE: It will not be a SEQUEL to Wanted. It will be a new Film ( May be another South Remake )

After three years, producer Boney Kapoor, director Prabhu Deva and  the Tiger Khan himself, are all set to reunite for another would be super-hit film.

Salman has said yes to it on the condition that the film will have an original script.
Sources says
" The team is scripting an original film because Salman khan don't want anymore remakes for now."
Also, the Chubby Ayesha Takia who played a girl next-door in Wanted would not be part of the sequel.
Talking about the dance numbers...
When asked about the dancing cameo Prabhu shies away from a direct admission but
Prabhu said
"Choreography remains a passion. But as a dancer I find younger and younger and better dancers are coming in. At 39 I find I am getting too old to be as agile on my feet as I used to be."
Actor-dancer-director is waiting for green light from the duos to start working on the project.

Salman Khan hates Promotion.!

Actor Salman Khan says he hates getting out of his house to promote movies before their release.

The 47-year-old had a busy 2012 as he was extensively promoting his two releases "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Dabangg 2". And the superstar says he misses old days when putting up a film's poster was the only promotion required.

"I don't like movie promotions... Today you have to keep aside a month and half for promotions because producers tie up with so many brands. Producers have become kanjus (stingy) today. Back then just a films poster was enough but today you have to go to so many cities, talk to so many people. It is very hectic," said Salman.

The actor was in New Delhi to attend his NGO Being Human's event.

Salman said he pledged his support for the cause as he thinks education and employment are important tools for developing the country.

"Being human was my parents idea, I have just streamlined it. I am very proud of being a part of this initiative and hope that benefits maximum children."

When asked how does he manage his NGO between hectic movie shootings, he joked, "I go late on movie sets, leave early."
